Chris Lintott appointed LSST:UK EPO Coordinator

Chris will coordinate Education and Public Outreach activities within the LSST:UK Consortium

The LSST:UK Consortium has appointed Chris Lintott, Professor of Astrophysics at the University of Oxford, as its Education and Public Outreach Coordinator. Chris is well known to a wide audience as co-presenter of the BBC's The Sky at Night programme and as a pioneer of Citizen Science through the Zooniverse project. He has also been a member for the advisory group for the Vera C. Rubin Observatory's Education and Public Outreach programme for many years, so he is well acquainted with the EPO resources it will be developing and ideally placed to see how they can be tailored to a UK audience. Many members of the LSST:UK Consortium are already engaged in education and outreach activities, and Chris sees his role as harnessing the expertise and enthusiasm already present in the community to ensure that the wider UK public benefits from UK participation in the Rubin Legacy Survey of Space and Time over the coming decade.
