LSST:UK at NAM 2024
The University of Hull was the venue for NAM 2024, which took place from 14-19 July 2024.
The first day of the event featured a pair of parallel sessions entitled Preparing for UK involvement in early science with the Rubin LSST. These provided an overview of LSST science capabilities, highlighted the Rubin Observatory’s plans for Commissioning and Early Science, and the showcased the training opportunities to help researchers prepare for the first LSST data.
The talks reflected the range of opportunities for engagement with LSST science. The UK audience was also given guidance on how to secure data rights, access the data and carry out science both with the nightly transient stream and the annual data releases.
The annual National Astronomy Meeting attracts hundreds of delegates from across the UK's astronomy community.
